Here's another drawing of a familiar character I like to draw.  Some of you may recognize him from my very first Flash project I did in school.  He's a snow lizard that lives in the Arctic and must wear the appropriate attire since he's cold-blooded.  He uses his giant magnifying glass to melt and crush ice.

Oh yeah, and remember that piece I did of Koopa Kid a few months ago for the SHM charity?  Well, teh gallery is live and the auction begins soon!  Check it out HERE and participate!

Leaps and Layovers

It's finally done, I've been working on this piece for too long, in my spare time whenever I felt like it.  It's a follow-up to my old man walk cycle, this time creating all the rough animation in Flash and then cleaning and coloring the final frames using Photoshop (Extended)'s "Timeline" feature.  The original idea was simply a fox jumping around and I wanted to play around with trying to have a character change shape over the duration of the animation without it feeling too obvious.  Obviously, I just kept adding more to the original idea, but it was very fun to animate and further develop the Fl > Ps pipeline.  Now that I'm done, I can start my other ideas that have been sitting on the back-burner.

Reversing

Doodling away to end this surprisingly filled weekend.  This sketch turned out differently than I intended, but I like the mono-toned style.  The Olympics are over, so it ended up becoming a winter snowy piece, haha!  For those select few, they may recognize this character I draw occasionally.  He is a lizard that lives in an arctic-like climate.

Bird Binge

Been messing around in Photoshop lately and I found myself drawing a lot of birds for some reason.  Here are a couple:

This one I made for my friend's website...

...and this one I just had no idea what I was doing... haha

omg, mario pARTy!!!

My piece for the Nintendo Gallery for charity.  My character was Koopa Kid.

Last year, a couple of my friends decided to organize a gallery of the original 151 Pokemon and auction off the art for charity.  Raising over $8000 last year, the fine folks of the ShrunkenHeadMan Club at SJSU have decided to continue the tradition, this time broadening the theme to Nintendo characters.  The auction will be announced soon and will probably run this Spring.  The money will go towards a non-profit organization that works with autistic children.  More details about the charity soon!.

Cow Palace

Last week marked C28's 4th annual gift exchange, organized by my buddy Kristina, and continued by those fine folks from my Animation/Illustration classes!  Like last year, three words were chosen in lottery fashion as well as the exchangees.

This year's theme: SPACE, STOLEN TIME, COW.  This year's exchangee: TIM

I didn't get a successful scan this time, so this is the only picture I have of the piece.

I took the theme a bit literally and chose to incorporate my fascination with space-time and relativity, along with the famous nursery rhyme.

Einstein cow!
